EDUCATION & TRAINING
Under the guidance of worthy Registrar Cooperative Societies Punjab and N.C.U.I, Puncofed has been imparting education and training since 1957. There are 26 sanctioned posts of Educational Instructors but due to paucity of funds only
9 Education Instructors are on the job. They are working under the
supervision of one Asstt. Education Officer and One Coop. Education
Officer.
Besides the above, the Puncofed has also undertaken the following special compaigns:- |

Puncofed from 2001 has started organising Block Level
awareness camps for the elected representatives. Progress of which is as
under:-

During 54th All India Cooperative Week, 110 village level camps were organized in which 1.50
Lacs members and committee members approximately participated in these camps. The attendants were made aware about their rights and duties and their problems were also discussed.

Special camps were organized for Women empowerment
from 1.4.2007 and upto 30.11.2007 81 classses were held which were
attended by 3967 women cooperators.

| COOPERATIVE CONFERENCES/SEMINARS/WORKSHOPS | ||
PUNCOFED arranges cooperative conference/seminars/workshops/meetings on special occasions to discuss the problems & seek their solution. Special Publicity campaigns are also arranged to help the Cooperative Societies in advancement & recovery of Cooperative loans.
The recommendation of the seminars held on revitalization of Cooperative Marketing Societies proved very useful in bridging the gap between Markfed and Marketing Societies PUNCOFED has chalked out a programme to hold seminars on short term & long term loans, Milk Producers & Sugar Cane producers in different Distt. Senior Department Officers and Managing Directors of Apex Institutions have been associated for the success of these seminars. |

| PRODUCTION & PUBLICATION OF LITERATURE | ||
Literature on Cooperation in the shape of pamphlets, booklets brouchers, hand bills, wall posters etc. are printed and distributed free of cost among the public by the publicity wing of this institution on various functions organized from time to time. |

Documentation of Circulars, Guidelines, Instructions, Orders issued by Registrar Cooperative Societies, Punjab and Govt. have been consolidated in book "Compendium of Circulars" January to December 2006, besides this the following booklets have been published:- |

| EDUCATION FUND | ||
| Education fund is assessed and collected from the cooperative institutions at the @ 2% of the net profit and according to the rules framed by the Registrar Cooperative Societies, Punjab.
60% of the total collection from the primary & central societies is retained by the Puncofed and 40% is paid to the District Cooperative Unions. The amount so collected is spent for the development and publicity of cooperative movement under the rules. A committee has been constituted to Administer the Cooperative Education Fund. |
