THE PUNJAB STATE COOPERATIVE lABOUR AND CONSTRUCTIONFEDERATION LTD.
History & Introduction:-
 

The Punjab State Cooperative Labour & Construction Federation Ltd; Chandigarh (Labourfed) was registered on 17.7.1956  vide  Registered/Regd. No. 854 under the Punjab Cooperative Societies, Act with a membership of all the Distt. Coop. Labour & Construction Unions in the State. The minimum membership for the Distt. Coop. L/C. Unions is Rs. 5000/- with an admission fees of Rs.5/-.        

The Headquarters of the Federation is at Chandigarh with its office in S.C.O.No.2, Phase-II, Industrial Area, Chandigarh.

The Labourfed has an elected body of 7 Elected Directors which includes Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Hony. Managing Director. The Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab or his nominee is ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

The terms of the Board is five years.
Objectives Of Organization:-
  Major Objectives
  The main objective of Labourfed is to coordinate and facilitate the working of Cooperative Labour and Construction Societies and Distt. Coop. L/C Union inthe State. In pursuance of this object the federation may undertake all such measures as are likely to assist and promote the organisation and functioning of Labour & Construction Societies and Unions.
  Secondary Objectives
   
  • To help Labour & construction Societies in Securing works from the Govt./Semi-Govt./Local Govt. and Public sector Corporations.
    		•
       
  • To represent the case of Labour & construction Societies in the State and to place their difficulties before various Govt. Deptt. so as to ensure speedy redressal of their grieviances.

  • To provide financial accomondation to the Labour Cooperatives for the execution of works/contracts entrusted to them.
